O Ispa – Instituto Universitário tem aberto concurso para a atribuição de uma Bolsa de Investigação (BI) na área da Psicologia, no âmbito do projeto “Scent Bonding: Examining Emotional Olfactory Cues of Human Interaction”, financiado pela Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.P. (FCT), no quadro do concurso para projetos de investigação de carácter exploratório em todos os domínios científicos 2024. A bolsa será desenvolvida no William James Center for Research, unidade de investigação do Ispa dedicada ao estudo científico do comportamento humano.

O projeto tem como objetivo investigar o papel dos odores corporais emocionais na modulação da interação humana, integrando pistas olfativas e visuais em paradigmas experimentais.

O bolseiro selecionado colaborará no desenvolvimento e implementação de estudos experimentais, incluindo a recolha de dados em contexto laboratorial, o registo de medidas psicofisiológicas, a análise estatística de dados e o apoio à sistematização e disseminação científica dos resultados.

A bolsa destina‑se a candidatos com grau de mestre em Psicologia ou área científica afim, terá a duração prevista de 12 meses, com início estimado em julho de 2026, e será desenvolvida em regime de dedicação exclusiva. As candidaturas decorrem de 14 a 29 de maio de 2026, até às 23h00 (hora de Lisboa).

Ispa Opens Call for Research Initiation Grant in Psychology

ISPA – University Institute has opened a call for applications for one Research Fellowship (BI) in the field of Psychology, within the scope of the project “Scent Bonding: Examining Emotional Olfactory Cues of Human Interaction”, funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT, I.P.) under the 2024 call for exploratory research projects across all scientific domains. The fellowship will be hosted at the William James Center for Research, ISPA’s research unit dedicated to the scientific study of human behaviour.

The project aims to investigate the role of emotional body odours in the modulation of human interaction, integrating olfactory and visual cues within experimental paradigms.

The selected research fellow will collaborate in the development and implementation of experimental studies, including data collection in laboratory settings, recording of psychophysiological measures, statistical data analysis, and support in the systematisation and scientific dissemination of research findings.

The fellowship is open to applicants holding a Master’s degree in Psychology or a closely related field. It is offered for an expected duration of 12 months, starting in July 2026, and will be carried out on a full-time, exclusive dedication basis. Applications will be accepted from 14 to 29 May 2026, until 11:00 p.m. (Lisbon time).
