O Ispa – Instituto Universitário tem aberto concurso para a atribuição de uma Bolsa de Iniciação à Investigação (BII) na área da Psicologia, no âmbito do projeto “Scent Bonding: Examining Emotional Olfactory Cues of Human Interaction”, financiado pela Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia. A bolsa será desenvolvida no William James Center for Research, unidade de investigação do Ispa dedicada ao estudo científico do comportamento humano.

O projeto tem como objetivo investigar o papel dos odores corporais emocionais na interação humana, analisando de que forma as pistas olfativas influenciam a perceção e a comunicação emocional. O bolseiro selecionado participará na implementação de protocolos experimentais, na recolha e análise de dados psicofisiológicos e comportamentais e na preparação de pré-registos no âmbito das práticas de ciência aberta.

A bolsa destina-se a estudantes inscritos numa licenciatura em Psicologia ou área científica afim e terá a duração prevista de seis meses, com início a 2 de maio de 2026. O concurso decorre entre 1 e 15 de abril de 2026, até às 23h00, hora de Lisboa.

Ispa Opens Call for Research Initiation Grant in Psychology

Ispa – Instituto Universitário has opened a call for applications for the award of a Research Initiation Grant (BII) in the field of Psychology, within the scope of the project “Scent Bonding: Examining Emotional Olfactory Cues of Human Interaction”, funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia. The grant will be carried out at the William James Center for Research, Ispa’s research unit dedicated to the scientific study of human behaviour.

The project aims to investigate the role of emotional body odours in human interaction, examining how olfactory cues influence emotional perception and communication. The selected grant holder will participate in the implementation of experimental protocols, the collection and analysis of psychophysiological and behavioural data, and the preparation of preregistrations within the framework of open science practices.

The grant is open to students enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related scientific field and is expected to last six months, beginning on 2 May 2026. The call is open from 1 to 15 April 2026, until 11:00 PM (Lisbon time).
