Undergraduate Degrees

Basic Education

School of Education

To educate: a passion, a mission. Today we know that the early years of life are decisive for a child’s development, and that experiences in Pre-school Education and in the first cycles of schooling are crucial for the child’s full growth and development.

About the Programme

Ispa’s bachelor’s degree in Basic Education combines up-to-date multidisciplinary theoretical and practical knowledge with curricular placements throughout all years of the programme. This consistent and well-balanced training, together with rigorous work habits in the fields of educational research and planning, provides a solid foundation for the training of future Early Childhood Educators and Primary School Teachers.

This is one of the courses born out of the partnership between ISPA and ESEI Maria Ulrich (2014-2020), creating a training programme that brings together the knowledge of both institutions, expanding and strengthening it.

In addition to the teaching activities that take place at Ispa, some complementary activities are held at Casa das Expressões, in Penedo.

Note: This bachelor’s degree constitutes the first stage towards professional qualification as an Early Childhood Educator and as a teacher for the 1st and 2nd cycles of Basic Education.
