Evaluation, development and learning of infants and children with special educational needs, mainly Down syndrome children, early intervention and mother-infant interaction have always been my research interests. Studies on the quality of Early Intervention Programs, family satisfaction with services and evaluation of early intervention practises have been carried out since 2000, mostly in Lisbon District. More recently, concerns on the quality of Family Child Care Programs in Lisbon County led to research to a pilot research study in this area. Since 2010, I have been working with Pais-Em-Rede, an Assotiation of families with handiccaped children and I am currently developing and co-ordinating a project - Oficinas de Pais/Bolsas de Pais - to promote parents' informal networks and parental skills in order to fully participate in their children's school and social inclusion.
