I work in a research team that studies Motivation and Affects. We try to analyze the relation between those variables and learning and the learning contexts. Namely, we study the motivation for learning the Portuguese Language, Mathematics and Reading and we try to analyze their relation with variables such as achievement, classroom environment, teachers’ motivation, gender and grade. Another area of research in which I work is social interactions, particularly, in tutorial situations. I’m interested in the effects that this kind of interactions have on cognitive development, affects and achievement.
