:: Current research project

Currently we are evaluating the importance of algal turfs to the recruitment of temperate reef fishes at the Arrábida Marine Park. Specifically, we are trying to understand if there is temporal, depth and algal species segregation by fish recruits.

This study will provide a first glance into the role of macroalgal turfs in fish recruitment at this recently created marine protected area, contributing as a new tool for the evaluation, implementation and design of new conservation areas.
